What is Respite/STA?

At Eloma Care, our Respite or Short Term Accommodation (STA) service offers more than just temporary relief for families and caregivers. It’s an enriching experience designed to provide participants with a safe and supportive environment, where they can enjoy a refreshing change of scenery and engage in exciting new activities.

Participants have the unique opportunity to explore independence, participate in outings, and test what it’s like to stay somewhere independently. This experience not only fosters personal growth but also enhances their confidence and enjoyment. Families and caregivers can take a well-deserved break to recharge and rejuvenate. We offer an app where you can see photos posted of your loved one, allowing you to relax and know they are in good care. This feature provides peace of mind and helps you stay connected with their experiences.

Benefits for Families

Improving Relationships: Time away from caregiving duties can reduce stress and improve family dynamics, leading to stronger, more positive relationships.

Rest and Recharge: Families/carers can take a break from their daily responsibilities, allowing them to rest and recharge.

Peace of Mind: Knowing that their loved ones are in a safe, supportive environment provides families with peace of mind.

Preventing Burnout: Continuous caregiving without breaks can lead to physical and emotional exhaustion.

Personal Growth: Breaks provide opportunities for personal growth and self-care, allowing carers to pursue hobbies and interests outside their caregiving responsibilities or enjoy a night out.
