We’re proud to celebrate one of our incredible clients, Jarred from our Gaythorne Day Program, who recently took to the national stage as a guest speaker at the Australasian Society for Intellectual Disability (ASID) Conference in Sydney on 14 November.
In the lead-up to the event, Jarred worked closely with the Council for Intellectual Disability (CID), collaborating with a dedicated group of adults to explore important topics including discrimination, advocacy, personal growth, and the lived experiences of people whose voices are too often overlooked.
Throughout this journey, Jarred has shown remarkable insight, empathy, and determination. His commitment to creating a more inclusive world made him a powerful contributor on the ASID panel, where he shared his perspective on empowering and representing people with intellectual disability.
We’re incredibly proud of Jarred for stepping forward, speaking up, and showing what true leadership looks like. His achievement reminds us all that meaningful change starts when people are given the chance to be heard and when they have the courage to use their voice.
