Peter has had a fantastic week embracing Eloma Care’s LAPS approach: Active Supports with Eloma Lifestyles. LAPs is an individualised weekly plan created with our clients based on three categories: Learning, Activities and Participation, all designed to foster independence through coaching and support.
With assistance from his support workers, Peter followed a tailored weekly plan built around his LAP goals, ensuring each day reflected his interests and choices!
Through Learning, Peter continued to build important life skills, particularly around healthy eating and daily routines. He actively participated in meal preparation and showed interest in making nutritious food choices. Paired with his gym workouts, this strengthened his understanding of maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
When it came to Activities, Peter enjoyed a variety of engaging experiences that kept him connected. A particularly special moment was spending time with his mum, reinforcing the importance of family connection as part of his overall wellbeing.
Peter’s Participation was a highlight! He took an active role in preparing meals, engaging in community outings such as visiting Castlereagh Hall, going shopping, and spending time at the café and pub. He also enjoyed socialising with peers at Eloma’s Penrith Day Program, forming meaningful connections and engaging positively with those around him.
It’s been a week full of growth, showcasing how, with the right support, clients can live the life they love. Well done, Peter; we’re excited to see what you choose next!
